As rider numbers climb, Nevada transit commission considers cutbacks
The number of passengers on the Regional Transportation Commission's Intercity route between Carson City and Reno has increased by 33 percent since March of last year, but officials of the Nevada commission said high operating costs may force them to make some cuts in service.

USFS officials roll out weed plan for Idaho, Montana forests
Spotted knapweed is the most pervasive non-native species that have made their way into the Bitterroot and Lolo national forests in Montana and the Clearwater and Nez Perce forests in Idaho, and U.S. Forest Service officials have released a draft environmental assessment of attack options on knapweed and 12 other non-native invasive weeds.

Report: 16 wolves in Wyoming have been killed since March 28
All 16 of the wolves that have been killed in Wyoming since federal endangered species protections were removed from the species on March 28 were killed in an area of the state where wolves are classified as predators and can be killed at any time, but kills are required to be reported to state game officials within 10 days.

Idaho outfitters say Army Corps of Engineers' work harmed bull trout
Idaho requested the Army Corps of Engineers do an emergency flood-control project to pull woody debris deposited during a flash flood in 2006 from Lightning Creek, but two local outfitters said the work done damaged important bull trout habitat, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service officials are questioning the project as well.

Haze of unknown origin blankets Las Vegas Valley
Clark County meteorologists and National Weather Service personnel said they had no idea what caused the haze that covered the Las Vegas Valley on Monday, obscuring the Nevada city's view of the nearby Spring Mountains.

N.M., Virgin Galactic say all systems go on commercial spaceport

The housing market in Ada and Canyon counties in Idaho again posted an increase in sales in April, and the number of pending sales is up as well, but inventory numbers are still high, foreclosures are increasing and housing prices are slipping.
