In the Rockies today, wind energy in Wyoming, a new track for Canada's forest industry, and pneumonia is found in two more bighorn sheep herds in Montana.

In Wyoming, Gov. Dave Freudenthal spoke in support of four wind-power bills on Monday, including one that would impose a tax on megawatts produced.

On a national scale, wind-energy hasn't quite lived up to the promised job growth, even though megawatts produced by the renewable source has increased dramatically, the number jobs in the manufacturing sector of the industry has decreased.

In Canada, the forest industry said the future looks green, if the industry moves toward biomass energy and carbon sequestration.

And in Montana, where dozens of bighorn sheep have been culled from herds to stop the spread of pneumonia, sheep in two herds in the Rock Creek drainage have been found with the disease.

Colorado lawmaker's streetcar bill is premature, untimely
Colorado Sen. Chris Romer's legislation to siphon some FASTER funding to put streetcars back on Denver's Colfax Street is premature, and given the mind-set of some key Republican lawmakers desire to dump FASTER altogether, the bill is ill-timed as well.
